Monday, November 28 - The Zone

1pm-2pm Red Ribbon Cookies at The Zone
Decorate your own red ribbon cookie in honor of World AIDS Day and learn about the variety of on-campus events taking place throughout the week to commemorate this global awareness event.

Tuesday, November 29 - Library Walk

11am-2pm Tabling and Red Ribbon Distribution
Come pick up your red ribbon and learn more about HIV and IADS with the Student Health Advocates. There will also be a Snapchat geo-filter available.

Wednesday, November 30 - Library Walk

Thursday, December 1 - World AIDS Day

Before you start experiencing all of the World AIDS Day events around campus, students should pick up a World AIDS Day Passport on a condom rose or dental dam lily at the World AIDS Day tables on library walk in front of Student Health Services. Passports can be stamped at various World AIDS Day events throughout the day. Completed Passports can be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a 16GB iPad Air! #ucsdAIDS15

Price Center East

10am-7pm AIDS Memorial Quilt - Price Center Ballroom East
The AIDS Memorial Quilt is the largest community folk art piece in the world, and it was created to honor the lives that were lost due to HIV and AIDS. There will be three panels of the quilt, one native to San Diego, on display at Price Center Ballroom East. There will also be posters about current HIV/AIDS research at UC San Diego outside the Price Center Ballroom East for public viewing.
10am-7pm COMPULSIVE PRACTICE ongoing video screening
There will be an on going, hourly screening of COMPULSIVE PRACTICE, an hour-long video program created from clips of the compulsive, daily practices of nine artists and activists who are living with HIV/AIDS. It was produced by Jean Carlomusto, Alex Juhasz, Hugh Ryan, and Visual AIDS for Day With(out) Art2016.
12pm-2pm Pianist Rene Risa
Rene Risa will be performing in the Memorial Quilt room.
12:30pm-2pm PrEP and PEP with Dr. Kadakia - John Muir College Room in Price Center Ballroom East
Dr. Kadaia will go over PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) and PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis), two methods of preventing the spread of HIV.
6:30pm-8pm Living with HIV Panel
This panel will allow the voices of people living with HIV and AIDS to be heard. They will share their personal experiences and answer questions.

Library Walk

10am-4pm HIV/Hep C/STI Testing Bus
There will be free HIV/Hep C/STI testing. Testing should take 5-10 minutes and results for the HIV and Hep C tests will be ready within 20 minutes. The result of the STI test will be delivered to the patient in one to two weeks.
11am-3pm HIV/AIDS Tree of Remembrance - End of Library Walk, in fornt of Geisel Library
The Tree of Remembrance allows for members of community to write messages and convey their thoughts and feelings about the lives that were lost and the people who are living with HIV and AIDS.
11am-3pm Tabling and Red Ribbon Distribution
On the official day of the event, join us on Library Walk to learn more about HIV and AIDS and get a red ribbon to honor World AIDS Day. There will also be a Snapchat geo-filter available. There will be an opportunity to enter a raffle for an iPad Air by participating in a number of activities and collecting stamps.
11am-3pm Photobooth in honor of World AIDS Day
There will be a photobooth on Library Walk where everyone can take pictures with props in honor of World AIDS Day.
12pm Library Chimes
Scott Paulson of the UC San Diego Library will perform a special peal on the chimes atop Geisel Library to mark a moment of reflection for World AIDS Day.

Campus Community Centers

Throughout the day, various Campus Community Centers will host informational presentations on a diversity of issues: Light refreshments will be provided
10am-11am The LGBT Community & HIV/AIDS
LGBT Resource Center
One of the populations most imacted by HIV/AIDS is the LGBT community. Learn about the latest statistics and how to take preventive measures.
11am-12pm HIV/AIDS in the Black Community
Black Resource Center
The Black community in the U.S. continues to be the race/ethnicity group most impacted by HIV/AIDS. Learn more about the factors impacting this community and steps for prevention and education.
2pm-3pm HIV/AIDS in the Latin@ Community
Raza Resource Centro
This session will be conducted in Spanish
As a cross-border region, San Diego's HIV/AIDS epidemic is different than what is seen nationally and globaly. Learn how Latin@s are affected by HIV/AIDS.
3pm-4pm HIV/AIDS & Women
Women's Center
Learn more about the impact of HIV/AIDS on women and the role that gender plays in prevention efforts.
4pm-5pm Asian/Pacific Islanders & HIV/AIDS
Cross-Cultural Center
Even though Asians/Pacific Islanders are not as impacted by HIV/AIDS as other communities of color, this community has low HIV testing rates. Learn how the API community is affected.
